  • 1986

    Husband and wife Mr. HK and Mrs. Pauline Ngan founded Mainland Sewing Mills Co. out of their small home as a trading company of OEM and promotional goods.

  • Invested in manufacturing by implemented in in-house label and embroidery machines, allowing Mainland to broaden its services to customers.

    1988
  • 1992

    Established a new embroidery factory in Shenzhen, PRC.

  • Began manufacturing headwear products with its in-house sample room in Shenzhen, in the subsequent year, started full scale production from cutting to finishing, embarking on decades of long journey in headwear manufacturing. Began partnership with Drew Pearson Marketing to develop licensed headwear products for globally known brands.

    1994
  • 1999

    Mainland’s Zhenhan Industrial Park was inaugurated in Buji, Shenzhen, with 35,000 sqm of production space, dormitories and annual production capacity of 25 million pieces.

  • On December 13th, Mainland Headwear Holdings Limited (1100) was officially listed on Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the first and only headwear company to be publicly traded in the world.

  • 2001

    Acquired Drew Pearson Marketing, enabling Mainland to expand into the licensing business. Mrs. Pauline Ngan was awarded the Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong

  • Awarded the Export Marketing Grand Award and Productivity Award at the 2003 Hong Kong Awards for Industry

  • 2004

    Gained the exclusive manufacturing license for headwear for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Partnered with US’s largest headwear retailer Lids and opened retail shops in Hong Kong and China. Awarded “20 Outstanding Enterprises Parade 2004” by Economic Digest Mrs. Pauline Ngan was awarded the “Executive Director Award” at the Directors of the Year Awards and Owner-Operator Award in the DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards

  • Opened Sanrio retail shops in China, expanding the group’s retail portfolio. Established Drew Pearson International in the UK as Mainland’s regional sales branch for Europe. Started in-house Research & Development department and enabled Mainland to stay ahead of fashion trends and technological applications.

  • 2006

    Acquired the Kangol factory in Panyu to enhance production capabilities.

  • Obtained “FIFA” worldwide exclusive manufacturing rights for headwear category.

    2007
  • 2008

    Began a long-term strategic partnership with New Era Caps, the world’s largest and fastest growing headwear company. Awarded the Hatty Award from Hat Life, USA

  • Recognized for her long-term social contributions, Mrs. Pauline Ngan was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR.

    2009
  • 2011

    Acquired H3 Sportsgear, a US based lifestyle licensing and trading company. Opened New Era’s first flagship store in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong Mainland’s Umbro football design was awarded “Kids Design Award” by Japan Kids Design Council Mrs. Pauline Ngan was appointed as President of Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council

  • Acquired San Diego Hats Company, a premium US brand specialized in fashionable headwear and accessories for women, men, and children.

    2012
  • 2013

    Established Unimas Limited in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Mainland’s largest production base outside of China. Mrs. Pauline Ngan was elected as the Hong Kong deputy of the 12th National People’s Congress of People’s Republic of China.

  • Completed the first phase of expansion for the Unimas factory, doubling its production capacity.

    2014
  • 2016

    The second phase of expansion of Unimas was completed, once again doubling its production capacity.

  • Built an orphanage and a town hall near the Unimas factory to give back to the neighboring community.

    2017
  • 2018

    Consolidated the group’s US subsidiaries including SDHC and H3 and relocated the companies to a new office building in Carlsbad, California. The new facility allowed both companies to share resources and enhance inventory and logistics management. Established a new e-commerce division to cater the growing demands from online customers. Mrs. Pauline Ngan was elected as the Hong Kong deputy of the 13th National People’s Congress of People’s Republic of China.

  • Acquired Aquarius Ltd, a US based leading accessories supplier. The acquisition marked a step forward in strengthening and expanding the Group’s existing business categories by widening the spectrum from headwear to the accessories segment.

    Completed the final phase of Unimas’ expansion with a new 11 storied production building, totaling 65000 sqm, houses over 200 20-heads embroidery machines and a new intelligent hanger production system.

    2019
  • 2022

    Completed Unimas’ phase 4 production facility, started expansion for additional warehouse building and extended manufacturing capabilities to include belts and wallets. With more than 83000 sqm and 400 embroidery machines, Unimas is the largest headwear and accessory manufacturer in Bangladesh.

    Innovation of 3D Cap Logo Printer won Bronze Medal Award by Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions.

  • Awarded China-Bangladesh Business Excellence Award

    Established Mainland Mexico Headwear Manufacturing Limited in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico. With only 2km from the USA boarder, the pioneered North American facility strengthened Group’s speed-to-market competitive advantages.

    Expansions on Mainland Mexico Headwear Manufacturing Limited undertaken in phases with building of 20000 sqm warehouse and Free Trade Zone developments.
